Cape Town’s Absa Building to Be Redeveloped into Modern Apartments
One of Cape Town’s tallest and most popular skyscrapers, known as the Absa building, was built in the early 1970s. This iconic building, which can be seen in the central business district of the mother city, is being redeveloped from a business-operated building to a residential and commercial building.
What to Expect from the Redeveloped Absa Building
15 Floors of the Absa building will be used for commercial purposes, while the remaining 11 floors, will be turned into modern apartments, with a view. The mixed-used result has been designated the name, Foreshore Palace, which adds a sense of elegance to the building. The commercial space on the ground floors will include banking facilities, shops, a few popular retail stores, restaurants, and coffee shops, making it an urban dream to own an apartment just a few floors upstairs, which will consist of 99 single-bedroom apartments, 9 two-bedroom apartments, as well as 63 compact studio apartments.
The building’s fourth floor will also be a business floor, which is specifically designed by KMH Architects and being developed by HBW Group.
The prices for these apartments will range from R1.16 million and up, with the size of the studio apartments starting from 23.9 square meters. The single-bedroom apartments will cost from R1,569 million and range between 41 and 51.7 square meters, and the two-bedroom apartments, R3,789 million, ranging in sizes starting at 71,6 square meters.
Developers are very enthusiastic about the development of this incredible building and predict that the apartments will be in high demand once finished, especially because it is situated in the popular Foreshore area and will include commercial stores and cafes downstairs.
To make the apartments and office space even more appealing, the location is also perfect and makes it easy for residents to move around, socialize in the city and stay entertained.
The estimated date for the Foreshore Palace to be complete is December 2020, allowing plenty of time to spark interest in Cape Town for residents and business owners.
The building, which has served as everything from a nightclub, a commercial building and having some of the most incredible restaurants, now continues to evolve, which will serve the residents and infrastructure of Cape Town quite well.
